On the other hand...as usual, it suddenly dissipates as it approaches the City...our drought may continue...looks like most of the moisture will stay to our North over Lake Pontchartrain. I'm still expecting some decent rain later this week as moisture flows in from the Gulf....whether or not it's tropical remains to be seen, but, it may become tropical...likely a hybrid, though.

I am wallowing in joy here too Sean, as I celebrate the rain. I had felt like I was trapped in one of those old western movies where they were lost in the desert. They would see a mirage complete with water and palm trees. When they got close...poof, a face full of sand. In my own personal movie, I would watch the rain on radar heading my way....then poof, it would break up. Not tonight though.....no sand here.

Well...it did rain and it's beating on my window as I type....it's been raining for about 45 minutes...I guess I've gotten about .50." Hey...that's better than nothing (as the thunder rolls...).

Well... it's moving east. And, looking to my west, I see lightening too! Rain and lightening all on the same night - been a while since that's happend in this neck of the woods!! Still gotta hope it doesn't make it much more east - I personally know folks over there who aren't even close to being ready for rain yet...

EDIT: On second look, it doesn't look like it's gonna slow down...

Well, we did get some rain with Ivan, but not a great deal and not a drop since then and we hadn't had any significant amounts since I forgot too, before Ivan hit.

So far we have had one thunder and a light mist....wonder if we will get anymore. All the tree limbs and leaves on the streets are a fire hazard they are so dry.
