Those pics do not reflect wind damage, but storm surge damage. Notice the foundations wiped clean with no debris? All that is now in the Gulf.


The debris was wiped clean by the homeowner, this is over a week later and was wind damage, note they also put a flag in the front yard and neighbors put a yellow ribbon on the tree.

With storm surge debris there is no such thing as swept clean, note the parking lot pic of Crab Trap along the beach in Destin above. Surge leaves behind debris everywhere along with alot of dead vegetation, sea grass, e.t.c....


I've seen surge that had complete washover - and the debris was washed way inland, or into the ICW. In Destin, the parking lot for The Crab Trap was most likely the "high point" of the surge where everything ended up. Surge that washes over an island will take everything with it (swpet clean), depositing the debris much further away than where it originated.
