EXPERIMENTAL HURRICANE FORECAST
HURRICANE KARL
NJN WEATHER CENTER
1130AM FRI SEPT 24TH 2004
Karl is nearly no longer a hurricane as he races into the colder Atlantic faster than I've ever driven. He's currently an 80 mph hurricane and is about ready to become extra tropical.
Latest estimates have him well away from Canada or any other landmasses and he should remain harmless.
Karl was a Category 4 at 1 time but has remained a fish for his entire lifespan. My current forecast on Karl has him becoming extratropical possibly by tomorrow.. but no later than Sunday.
Here is the latest forecast on Karl:
Today: Moving away from everyone. Max Winds: 65 mph
Saturday: Becoming extratropical. Max winds: 55 mph
Sunday: In the history books and a gale center at best. Max Winds: 40 mph
This forecast will only go out 3 days as it looks like Karl will not last much longer.
Track and intensity forecasts subject to errors.. some as many as 100's of miles.
