Why The Hulking Ridge This Year?

Charley / Frances / Ivan - Panama City Beach / Almost Definite Jeanne - 4 Florida hurricanes in 42 days! We know that this stronger than normal Atlantic high pressure ridge has been the main culprit this hurricane season regarding Florida landfalls. But, WHY is the Atlantic / Bermuda High stronger & pushing more westerly this year - what are the climatological factors this season for the HULK RIDGE?

PNA? NAO? ENSO? Something tells me the NAO is involved, but its only an educated hunch.
