Ivan's wrath

As I read some of these posts with people arguing wobbles, turns, and water vapor loops, who is right, who is wrong, and who has questionable parentage, I wonder if we are stopping and thinking about the effects this storm has already wrought.

The details coming out of Grand Cayman on http://www.StormCarib.com are devastating. People have been left with nothing (imagine your car being gone...not just flooded, not just crushed, but gone...part of a new artificial reef somewhere). The details from Jamaica are equally devastating. These effects far outlast our petty arguments, frustrations, etc.

Why don't we all take a break, breathe deeply, and use our collective intelligence to think of ways that we can assist with disaster relief to the islands or at least ways to get information out to loved ones. Then, let's remember that wherever this storm hits along the Gulf Coast, we need to plan on the same outpouring of assistance for them as well.

Good rant.

If you will look in the stickies at the top of HH you will find some efforts already under way. However they obviously need to be widened.

Yep, I saw that...5 posts about donations, 987 posts about the latest wobble and "o my god i see a loop that the NHC doesn't".

Having visited Grand Cayman, Cozumel, and Jamaica, I can relate to the locations and devastation.

Sigh, must be the NASCAR phenomena! Everyone wants to see the wreck!
