Hi to all! First I must personally thank you for all the information that flows through this great site. FYI the State authorities have been providing information every three hours through the TV and radio of what we should be expecting. A little while ago a broadcast from the capital of the State (Chetumal) was issued in Spanish, English and Mayan. According to this information we should be expecting very strong winds around 8:00 pm local time. Cozumel's broadcasted information to the community is still "stay calm, we should expect mild rain and 60-119 km/hr winds". The airport is already closed, no boats to the mainland since Saturday night, there are around 1800 tourists in the Island (according to an official source last night) who will be yaken to shelters if needed. At this hour its not even raining, there are some heavy clouds and people are still out in the streets. All the stores in the waterfront have already "boarded up". Isla Mujeres (north of Cancun) is having waves up to 4 meters at this time.
Thanks to all again for your inputs.
