Forward Speed

#1 Postby HugoCameandLeft » Mon Sep 13, 2004 10:06 am

Morning everyone,

Local mets keep saying that Ivan will be out of SC area by Thurs/Fri, and therefore a non-factor for weekend activities. However, model guidance seems to be against that notion. What factors will come into play in Ivan's forward speed? Do any of you "educated folk" see reason to believe that Ivan will speed up? One of the local mets even said that we may feel effects in SC by Wednesday. I just don't see what he's seeing.

Thanks.

In Savannah GA, they are not saying anything about effects for that area.

Saturday Morning position is where TN/NC/VA are located. Saturday might be wet, but after that, it should be gone.

The local mets in Charleston, SC as of 11 AM are now considering IVan a greater threat than it was this morning and have gone back to looking at it more seriously. They feeel that it might take a a more eastward shift now than a westward shift and cause some problems for us here late Wed - Friday.
