Models trending west - Dauphin Island effects?

Looks like the models are begining to trend a bit WEST.

I'm wondering what the effects will be on Dauphin Island, Alabama. If these models are right, DI will be on the west side of the storm, but still within easy range of it.

My parents are going to spend the month of October down there, so as you can imagine, we are waiting with trepidation. :-(

Dauphin Island

It would depend on how close the center was east of the Island. Frederic came ashore about 15 miles west of Dauphin Island in 79 , and erased the main bridge, and every home from the center of the Island westward, including about 40% of beach.
I was on the Island the morning before landfall, and back in 3 weeks. It was awful.
Just really depends on wind strength at the Island
Hope this helps.
