My only question...

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

My only question...

#1 Postby frederic79 » Fri Sep 10, 2004 12:59 pm

I live just west of Mobile, AL. I'm going out of town for awhile and don't want to leave the pets if there's ANY danger of Ivan coming this way. To me, all discussion and models point to Ivan staying well east of here. Is there ANY reason at this point to think Ivan could come this far west and what would that reason be?[/b]

The chances at this point of Ivan heading to alabama are very slim.

you SHOULD be ok... anything is possible but all models/forecasts say you are going to be fine. As always pay attention to the track.

The NHC and TWC and several on here are pointing towards the FL west coast or the big bend area. There are still some models that have landfall further west (NOGAPS, CMC) and some trending west (GFDL). Let's see which side of Jamaica the storm passes on and we'll have a better idea if it's peninsula bound or panhandle (or west) bound.
