Proud of being Ontarian right now! Sending Hydro Trucks!

#1 Postby Wainfleeter » Thu Sep 09, 2004 11:19 am

I just heard on our local station that Ontario is sending 4 convoys of Hydro trucks to Florida to help out. They are sending 240 personnel and 130 trucks.
Very proud known we are doing something to help.

The remnants of Frances went through my area last night. We lost power until around 11:30 this morning. Was surpirsed to see all the tree limbs down throughout our yard and elsewehere. The winds split one tree in half, am looking at it through my sun room window. Still raining and windy.

Not even 1/4 of the strength Floridians have received or elsewhere through the states. Still, not fun.

My heart is with you all. **hugs**

Thanks to everyone everywhere for sending help. I'm now on day 7 with no electricity at my house. Thank God I've been able to find enough gas to keep the generator going! If this was a Cat 2, I don't want to see anything more powerful than that, my yard is trashed.

*sticks chest out with pride*

There is definitely a comradarie among utility workers. Hydro crews routinely do things like this, on both sides of the border.
