When should the next Vortex be out?

The storm looks alot better. I expect the recon to find a lower pressure with a much higher winds.

what exactly is the VORTEX? i keep thinking that new VORTEX means a new TD or TS

Vortex message includes center fix, pressure, and max winds in a storm.

The recon should be leaving shortly and the next flight won't be til 2am EDT, so unless we see one soon, it won't be until then.

A Vortex message contains measurements from with the eye or center of a tropical system. As stated above it includes pressure, winds, eye wall type (open, closed), size of eyewall and tempature. Usually you'll see several vortex messages during a flight into a hurricane as they measure different areas of the eye.
