If you look away from the image, and use you peripheral vision, you can get a better sense of direction of the overall storm.

It's still moving the same direction as far as I can see. The colors in the other images produce optical illusions when trying to get a directional.
Kind of like if you draw a straight line, tangent to a circle, the line looks curved.

I'm just watching to see how close to the NHC track the system stays. Other than the stall, I thought the NHC was right on the money with Frances for a good while. And other than the last minute turn with Charley, I thought the NHC did an excellent job there, as well. We'll see how they fare with Ivan. I must admit, this year, I have a great deal of confidence in their forecasts and tracks.

Basically what I mean is that there are no sat pics available right now. There is a period of time everyday, starting at 345Z that sat pics are not available from GOES.
