Rainydaze Checking here

#1 Postby rainydaze » Mon Sep 06, 2004 7:21 pm

Hi everyone, can't type long, but I wanted you to know me and my family are OK. The southern tip of the eye landed in Jupiter, about 10 miles north of us. We spent about 8 hours in the southern eye wall! Lots of trees down. No traffic lights, no power, etc. (the usual)

Damage to my house was minimal. Entire fence blew down (almost eveybody had fence down), our outside patio got trashed! Screens out, outer layer of the aluminum roof got blown off. Some water damage in my daughter's room rug. The house is fine. We did not lose a single shingle from our roof.

Anyway, tonight I am spending the night in my mother-in-laws office at the hospital. They have electricity here and best of all AIR CONDITIONED! I am exhausted from the last four days. I came here at 1:00pm and slept until 7:00pm. And I'm going back to bed soon.

I will never wish for the experience of going through a Cat 4 hurricane again. CAt 2 was scary enough for me....now I know.

God Bless, Marie

Thanks for checking in and great to see you made it through Frances without any major damage! Get some rest it's going to be a long week from the looks of it!

Glad y'all are safe, Rainydaze! Sleep well and relax when you can.

BTW, does anyone know if siobhan has checked in? I believe she was in Palm Beach Gardens, too.
