NHC Slowed Track/Landfall by 6 hours on 11PM Track
this really distrubs me. is this thing really gonna slow down?? seems like its just going to give people even less time to finalize preperations. i'd really like to know why they think frances is going to slow its forward speed so much.

Well if the ridge does weaken some then the steering flow for Frances will weaken causing the slowdown. I agree a slowdown is bad in that when it does make landfall the winds will be felt longer near the coast and additionally for inland areas the fresh water flooding from the rains would be terrible.
