I in August?

This August has been extremely busy.

Have we ever gotten up to I in named storm history by Aug 31?

With the Cape Verde system possibly being named soon,
that would get us up to the I's - which is amazing in itself as slow
as the season started.

I don't see the CV system being named, at least not in August. It seems to have lost most of its convection in the last few hours and it's moving NW-NNW over cooler waters.

1995 got up to "L" in August, but 5 storms formed before August. If we get I this August, it will be a first.
