This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

First time poster past PBP member, nice to be home again

#1 Postby FloridaDiver » Fri Aug 27, 2004 12:41 pm

First time reader / poster on this board but long time fan of the forecast / posts from past members of the “other” weather related board which today is only a fragment of its past self…. can we say PB.. gone? (MWalkins, WXRisk Dixibreeze and a few others)

Just wanted to pass a friendly hello message to everyone!

I’m glad I finally found this board and reading these forecasts / posts again, as always they are of high quality, informative and entertaining. Seems I was out of the weather message board loop for a while due to a year plus crazy businessf travel and didn’t know where the older PBP regulars migrated to.

I’m a Florida Native and experienced Andrew in 92 a bit too close and personal when I lived minutes from Black Point Marina down in Cutler Ridge. 12 years later I still have nightmares of watching my home being systematically dissected by Andrew; it was an experience I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. :(

I just spent a week in Punta Gurda helping some friends in the West Coast thanks to Charley. I’m a very, very amateur met and appreciate the detail everyone puts into their forecasts.

I just have a very bad feeling about Francis, on this board some posts are pointing to a similarity of the overall weather patterns around this system when compared to what drove Andrew due west in 92, is there any or will there be any correlation to what is appening now and what happened in 92?

Thanks again everyone, I’m glad to be onboard once again!
