The Bermuda High...
I was listening to TWC and they were talking about the storms being steered this time of year by the "Bermuda High". Could someone explain this to me?? Thanks!

The Bermuda High tends to move storm generally westward south of center of the high pressure system that is located over or most often in the viniicity (in terms of the Atlantic Ocean's size) Bermuda.
When the system moves toward, but not necessarily the east coast they turn to the NW and N in response to the western periphery of the high... sometimes this causes the system to move along the eastern seaboard, either inland or just off shore into New England... such as Gloria in 1985 and Bob in 1991.
A storm that is moving along the east coast (or just inland) is then moving along the western side of the high pressure.
