530 PM EDT WED AUG 25 2004

FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...

THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER IS ISSUING ADVISORIES ON
RECENTLY-UPGRADED TROPICAL STORM FRANCES...CENTERED ABOUT 1420
MILES EAST OF THE LESSER ANTILLES.

AN AREA OF CLOUDINESS AND SHOWERS NEAR THE SOUTHEASTERN COAST OF THE
UNITED STATES IS ASSOCIATED WITH A WEAK LOW PRESSURE AREA ALONG AN
OLD FRONTAL SYSTEM. DEVELOPMENT...IF ANY...SHOULD BE SLOW TO
OCCUR.

ELSEWHERE...TROPICAL STORM FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED THROUGH
THURSDAY.

HEADER WTNT31 AND UNDER AWIPS HEADER MIATCPAT1. FORECAST/ADVISORIES
