Osceola County (Kissimmee/St. Cloud)

#1 Postby rlar798 » Sun Aug 15, 2004 10:01 am

UPdate.... Still no electric for many citizens on this area. The news said that Kissimmee Utilities said they have 70,000 people on the grid and 54,000 of those people don't have power.

People that have Progress Energy (St. Cloud) are slowly getting power back. Downtown St. Cloud got elect back last night.

I haven't been to my house yet today, staying with friends, but I know they don't have power yet which will rapidly become a health issue because the area is on a well for water which means no flushing!

I'll post again later when I get back here to update any one thats interested.

No power/water

#7 Postby KG4HPN » Thu Aug 19, 2004 12:56 pm

We just got power back in Edgewater Landings (Edgewater, FL) yesterday, thank goodness and were never without water. However, for those who need water for such things as flushing and other healthful concerns....
To flush the toilet all you need to do is pour water in the bowl. Gravity will take care of the rest, so... Catch some rainwater in a bucket if possible. I know it's not supposed to rain today which makes that hard. You can also save the water from melted ice. Same principle applies. :) Hang in there, life will get back to semi-normal soon!
