Tropical Weather Outlook

Statement as of 10:30 PM EDT on August 12, 2004

For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico...

The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Hurricane
Charley...located about 55 miles south of Havana Cuba.

Cloudiness and showers associated with a westward-moving tropical
wave are located about 1300 miles east of the Windward Islands.
Development...if any...will be slow to occur.

Another westward-moving tropical wave over the far eastern Atlantic
is accompanied by a broad area of low pressure located about 300
miles southeast of the Cape Verde Islands. This system continues
to show signs of organization...and has the potential for slow
development over the next couple of days.

Elsewhere...tropical storm formation is not expected through
Saturday.
