Charlie IS heading north

#1 Postby hial2 » Thu Aug 12, 2004 7:55 pm

Look at this link...
http://www.srh.noaa.gov/radar/loop/DS.p ... kbyx.shtml

The eye feature is heading due north..In fact,if you draw a straight line, it shows a landfall closer to Ft Myers than Sarasota..

This hurricane will make the turn east sooner than the gods of metereology say!!

It was for a few frames, but it sure looks like it resumed NNW now. Just a wobble.

Nope...still heading due north..appears to be a trend and not a wobble

wobble...for best results, I suggest looking at the Key West radar.

Duh...you are looking at the radar.(my bad) In any case...it appears to me to be a slight wobble, but the overall motion is still NNW. However, I do agree that he will recurve sooner, rather than later.

If you switch to base reflectivity, it's a much clearer image and does in fact look to be moving mostly north.

I don't see anything but a NNW movement. Right now, it's just west of due south of Tampa. Still looks on the forecast track, but it's certainly possible to move right or left of that track (more likey right than left). Could go inland anywhere between Ft. Myers & Tampa. Better be prepared there in Florida.
