There has also been some speculation on other forums of the possibility of two consecutive El Nino events. The chances of this happening this year are low. There is always a much greater chance of neutral to weak La Nina conditions after an El Nino epidoes. In addition, there are no indications of warming under the sea surface, which is normally where you would first see signs of a redeveloping El Nino. Instead, we're seeing a continuation of cool anomolies expandind westward.
