The outlook was posted on the 11th. But I would just like to mention that the El Nino episode is continuing to weaken. All of the factors that enhance El Nino have weakened considerably since December. We still feel confident sticking with our first ENSO forecast posted in November.

There has also been some speculation on other forums of the possibility of two consecutive El Nino events. The chances of this happening this year are low. There is always a much greater chance of neutral to weak La Nina conditions after an El Nino epidoes. In addition, there are no indications of warming under the sea surface, which is normally where you would first see signs of a redeveloping El Nino. Instead, we're seeing a continuation of cool anomolies expandind westward.
