thought i'd throw in the population

#1 Postby jvance75 » Thu Aug 12, 2004 9:02 am

Just thought I'd throw in some rounded population estimates as of April 2004 into the possible landfall area...most residents in these counties live within miles of the coastline....and in the most dense county, Pinellas, it's a given that you live within miles of it. Since Pinellas is so at risk, I gave the permanent population and seasonal/permanent population at any given time during the year.

Tampa Bay/Sarasota area - 3,260,000
Hernando - 150,000
Hillsborough - 1,110,520
Pasco - 407,000
Pinellas - 940,000/1,040,080+ @ 230sq/m
Manatee - 300,000
Sarasota - 353,350

jvance -- given Sarasota's mandatory evacuation order, any idea how many that affects?

Thanks for posting this. Stay safe. My thoughts & prayers are with you all.
