1:15 PM EDT Storm2k Tropical Update,August 7

Not too much to discuss about this afternoon about what is happening in the Atlantic Basin.

The tropical Wave in the western Caribbean sea has very little convection and it did not survived the upper shear that weakened it from TD#2 status and no longer has the conditions to come back however in the tropics you can't say never but all indications are that this system is gone.

The tropical Wave located SE of Bermuda moving westnorthwestward at 15 mph has not becomed any better organized this afternoon although it has plenty of showers and thunderstorms.Upper shear is very strong in the area not allowing it to organize into a tropical cyclone.

Other Tropical Waves are moving westward in the tropical atlantic with one of them located at around 42w that has a spin to it but dry air is the inhibiting factor keeping it in check.

An unusual cold front has made it all the way into the Gulf Of Mexico but there are no signs of anything trying to pop up along the boundary.

Something important to note is that the pressures are somewhat higher than normal in the tropical atlantic and that indicates that the dry phase of the MJO is in the atlantic.

Tropical Storm formation is not expected thru sunday.
