Thanks Mike and HurricaneBill for bring all those stats from past years.I will say this.If august doesn't have any named storms then the season will not be as active as the experts said before the season started but personnally I expect the gates to open in that month.

My estimate is at least 3 named storms.

Note: even if TD1 becomes a tropical storm, it formed on July 31 and I'm not including it in my count.

Ok Alex formed today but it doesn't count as it formed into a TD on the 31rst.

Yes. If it had become a TD today, it would count for August. Next July 21-31, when TWC shows the points of origin map there will be a new dot for Alex.
