Am I reading this correctly???????

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

http://weather.unisys.com/mrf/loop/mrf_pres_loop.html watch our little blob of whatever.....LOL watch it slow die out around the bahamas then to florida. All of a sudden a low forms off of cape hatteras and it gets pretty big right next to the cape.... Could this be a case of a tropical disturbance transferring energy to create a low?????.......Interesting......

No, your're not reading it correctly.

The East Coast low has nothing to do with the wave, it's created non-tropically out of the westerlies.

Oh.. seemed kinda cool if that were to be the case... A tropical low converting it's self to another form.. that would be sweet if the atmosphere actually allowed that...LOL

Tropical cyclones can acquire extratropical characteristics.

Um ... it happens a lot when tropical systems move over cooler waters and become extratropical.
