Did they not call for no development the day before Allison formed? So far the models have done a good job this season forecasting surface lows. The low over Central America and the haiti low are two recent examples of model success. I tend to go with trends so I'd say there is a 50/50 chance that a weak low will form south of Louisiana this weekend. I doubt that it will become Alex though.......MGC

They said "No tropical storm formation expected" the very morning Allison formed.

I still love how Allison moved across southern lousiana and mississippi with a CLEAR LLC, and TS force winds...and yet, it was unclassified...and continued into NW Florida where it caused all the flooding in and around Tallahassee...sometimes I just dont know the NHC's head is. I mean EVERYTHING was there to re-classify it and yet they didn't until is was too late.

Gosh I really do hope that something forms and produces torrential rains for the Gulf and especially the SE states - we need some action pretty bad, not mentioning the EXTREMELY boring pattern we've had since May. I mean, it's been absolutely intolerable here since May.........

almost like weather no longer exists...........

I have a daughter on vaction in Cancun. She called and wanted to know if there was a TD or TS because of the conditions down there. High winds and gusts. Blew a glass door and window out when she was in a shop. Lots or rain. I hope that everyone stays safe.

I'm watching clouds building over Bay St. Louis and hope that the rain skips us because the yard still is not dry.
