EPAC vs Atlantic=Correlates both basins activity?

#1 Postby cycloneye » Tue May 18, 2004 6:25 pm

This question has been posted before but for the reason I lost many links when my computer crashed last year I cant find the stats that show the activity from both basins and how if one basin is more active than the other it tends to be active. For example if the EPAC is more active than the atlantic many would say that the atlantic basin will be less active but I haved heard that that is not the case because in many years both basins haved been active at the same time. That is why I want to see in real numbers the differences between both basins in terms of activity to see how they were in activity.I know that someone will bring those stats for me to then conserve them but this is also for newbies that may not know the activity in both basins is not nessessary correlated.

In average the EPAC is more active than the atlantic with an average of 16 named storms while in the atlantic the average is 10 named storms.
