Raining in many portions of the island tonight as the first external bands from Odette come in.Here in San Juan a heavy shower is falling as I type with wind measured by me at 17 mph from the south.

This morning I woke up to an overcast sky with steady rain but moderate to heavy showers haved been passing by San Juan in occasions.I think that we wont see the sun nor today nor tommorow.

Flood watches and warnings haved been posted for portions of Puerto Rico as the outer bands from Odette come into the island.Dont worrie about me guys because I am safe and dry.

Hopefully this time this event wont be of a long duration as the storm moves fast into the atlantic not like in the rain event in november that the low pressure trough was stationary.

Santo Domingo, about 100 miles east of the center of Odette, continues to have winds blowing from the north, which is opposite the circulation of Odette. Ships just offshore Santo Domingo have SE-SSE winds of 30-40 kts. Is the anemometer shielded from south winds, or maybe there is some local effect that prevents southerly winds from reaching the city?

Here on Culebra it rained heavily around 4:30 a.m. for a half hour or so and since then has been windy and seriously overcast with the occasional drops of rain. At present the wind is picking up and it is looks more like dusk now than the middle of the afternoon and I hear thunder off shore.
A big December birthday party was planned for tomorrow on a friends huge tri, but is now cancelled...not much fun to party when the wind is blowing 20 knots and the sun is hiding Oh well, there will be another Sunday. I only feel badly for the people who just got their roads fixed...

Humm not too bad the situation in Culebra but that may change tonight and on sunday as those feederbands from Odette move to PR from the south.Sorry about that party cancellation but as you said there will be more sundays to do it.

This storm has a large rainfield area and that is why we expect between 10-15 inches when all is set and done here in Puerto Rico.

A cloud filled sky, with a weak sunrise this morning, but a sunrise nonetheless!

This morning San Juan has an overcast sky with middle to high clouds but without rain from midnight until this time 7:10 AM AST.But that area in the mona pasage with showers and embedded thunderstorms may move into western PR and spread during the day eastward and that is why the flash flood watch has been extended until 10:00 PM AST tonight.

This morning many sections of Puerto Rico woke up to steady to sometimes heavy rains as the radars above show.This is part of the frontal trough that sweepted Odette into the atlantic.
