Penn State Models Page "Forbidden"??
Tried to go to Penn State's site to look at the tropical models and got the following:
http://met.psu.edu/tropical/tcgengifs/
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /tropical/tcgengifs/ on this server.
Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Anyone else getting this? Perhaps the server is just having problems, or maybe they're now banning anyone outside the university from viewing the data.

Same here
Maybe the server itself is having problems as I got a message like that a while back when i tried to access the Preliminary Reports archive of the NHC (the 1958-1994) ones as it runs on a FTP server so it may be a server error or something.
If not server it may be that they obviously don't want us prying

Maybe the model output is so dramatic, that they closed down the site to prevent public panic. No..probably not. Sounded good.

The posts or stuff said are NOT an official forecast and my opinion alone. Please look to the NHC and NWS for official forecasts and products.
Model Runs Cheat Sheet:
GFS (5:30 AM/PM, 11:30 AM/PM)
HWRF, GFDL, UKMET, NAVGEM (6:30-8:00 AM/PM, 12:30-2:00 AM/PM)
ECMWF (1:45 AM/PM)
TCVN is a weighted averaged
Opinions my own.

I recieved a "Publisher has refused you access to this page" message...
I can't even access the Joint Typhoon Warning Center anymore...says my Webtv browser cannot access the now encrypted site. I wonder how long it will before NHC and other federal government weather related sites do the same thing?

Still getting the message this morning (8:45AM)
BTW, 403 Forbidden messages don't necessarily indicate a server problem. A 403 is the standard message a server will display when a page is not configured correctly and unable to render. The ErrorDoc would lead one to believe there's something wrong with the page or perhaps it is undergoing maintenance and has not been blocked.
However, if it is password protected or an IP or domain is blocked, a 403 Forbidden can appear.
404's indicate the server can't find the page.
This happened a few months ago (messed up our maps, too).
