Wave in Eastern Atlantic
I know it will not develop, but has maintained convection for two days off Africa and is quite sharp. It is almost closed per ASCAT.

Re: Wave in Eastern Atlantic
Noticed this system earlier this morning, even if it doesn’t develop the fact we have these tropical waves rolling off the coast of Africa in the second week in June is quite interesting...

This caught my eye this morning too. A pretty impressive wave considering the date.

Re: Wave in Eastern Atlantic
A very ominous harbinger of what is to come out there in MDR as we get deeper into July and August .
This wave is very impressive in satellite presentation and as pointed out, it is generally too early for these CV waves to develop. But, as I always use as my rule of thumb in analyzing weather, especially the tropics, NEVER say the word NEVER!!

That's right NorthJaxPro!
Never say never!
Was looking in the old records to see if there was such a thing and believe it or not, on this date and June 13, a Hurricane moved through the Leewards wayy back in 1780. It can happen, and yeah I too think this wave is a harbringer of sorts!
