A NW movement doesn't always mean a storm that will move out to sea. There have been troughs like the two we see in the western Atlantic now that have either weakened and/or lifted out to the west of a tropical system.
Sure Nicholas and the system to the east of the storm are expected to move out to sea, but they are there and we are watching them.
