This season has become an active one with 14 named systems so far. There's been other very active seasons, like 1933, the most active one with 21 named storms, and the 1995 season with 19. But what about the number of Tropical depresions formed during a season? So far we have 19 TD's formed this year, making this season one with a big number of tropical systems formed including tropical depressions.
Here's the question...Which one is the biggest number of TD's season? in other words...What is the year with the most TD's formed? This season with 19 TD's formed so far or there have been season with bigger number of TD's formed?

1995 had 21 Tropical Depressions, and of that 19 became storms.
1933 had at least 21 Tropical Depressions (21 storms) ... however, since tropical depressions were not kept in the historical best track analysis, the true number is not known.
