the Antilles? Lots of very persistent convection in those areas today. I know shear is heavy in the Bahamas, but the shear east of the Islands is expected to decrease:

That's a frontal wave developing over the Bahamas. It's not tropical now, but something to watch. Several models eventually move it NW toward the mid Atlantic coast on Thu/Fri. The disturbance east of the Antilles is a tropical wave interacting with a weak upper low. Conditions marginally favorable for development, but looks like it should head north after reaching the NE Caribbean on Thursday.

Could be trouble
Its not uncommon for systems like this to develop into a strong hybrid like Gustav did. Folks along the SE and MidAtlantic coast need to watch this one.
