Look like she is trying to fight that trough, well how far west will she get before turning.

The symmetric nature to Hurricane Kate is not in place any longer. Westerly winds are starting to do some damage with Hurricane Kate and Kate most likely has peaked in intensity. Weakening is forecast from here on out and the northwest turn will likely begin Sunday.

Also notice the eye looks more ragged. Certainly all the signs point at weakening at this stage of the game.
