This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Yes it is starting to wrap around. I think Larry is about to be born. The NHC, TPC, or whomever will classify him this afternoon.

Hi all - I've been watching the loops, taking in all of the information on the loops all season and really - still do not really have a clue as to how the direction is determined when whese things start to move. Looking at the link at the top of the page - I begin to see some rotation - but the location of the storm seems directly south of Louisiana. Either this thread or another one was "hypothesizing" a central to eastern gulf coast hit . . . but to me that would seem that this disturbance (soon to be named apparently) would have to track almost due north.

Can someone help the blind see?

Thanks. 8-)

Looks like the circulation is becoming better defined but it's also appearing to be drifting to the west. I think this might get buried in Mexico like some are saying.

It looks like it is starting to wrap to me.. I have a question though.. Is there any way it will move back East? If so, How?? what are the factors that would make that happen?

Well, for a start just because you see the deepest convection somewhere, doesn't mean that's where the center is. As you can see most of that deep convection due S of Louisiana has fizzled. Look into the Bay of Campeche for the LLC.
