Waiting around...

#1 Postby Josephine96 » Sun Sep 28, 2003 7:34 pm

Well as we are approaching 11pm.. the next round of advisories will be out. It doesn't look like TD 17 will be here till tomorrow.. Forgive me if I'm wrong.

Juan continues bookin towards the Canadian Maritimes and Kate is just spinning in her own little world.

Comments welcomed on any of the 3 systems

We will have to wait until it emerges in the SW GOM because it will cross the Yucatan first so development is not imminent as it crosses land.

True Cyclone. Lets' see if it survives the trip across the Yucutan.. or if the Yucatan shreds it up. We shall see..

If you look at the satellite loop it appears to be heading in a northward direction. Also,it seems to be wrapping up as well.

If its inland later tonight, i dont think it will be classifed tomorrow either, i will say if it survives, it should make it to the gulf sometime on tuesday, then thats probably when things will heat back up.

I dont think its gonna cross the Yucatan. I see it getting picked up by the westerlies to its north (the trough). Look at the movement, its moving north as stated above. I think it could be a TD now, there is definately a surface low as shown by this visible loop (look southeast of Cozumel). if you wanna see the rotation more clearly speed the animation up to the max and its clear a low level center has formed.

You're right...

It may get pulled North... and then possibly NE and be the 3rd system to effect Florida this year {pre-erika and Henri were the other two..}. The question is.. When will NHC send a plane out or when will they just flat out call it a TD lol

by the way.. welcome to the board

It is crossing the Yucatan now, which will impede development for the time being, will not be classified at least until Tuesday.

What's also different about this system tonight is that the thunderstorms are not dying out as quickly, are not at all.

Yep, i think its gonna head north and get flung east-northeast into the Tampa area or a little father south. Whether it become Larry is another story, i think the shear will keep it at TD level but i think it could become a weak TS. Its gotta get it together fast before the westerlies start shearing it a bit.

Good analysis Houston.. I agree with you.. It has to get a little more active and become "17" before we begin to jump on the Larry thing lol...

If it move slow it will be a major rain maker for Central or South Florida if it comes this way...

Really doesnt matter much what strength it is at, 30-50 mph winds arent much different, the problem you all will have is lots of rain.

Yep... that's the truth. No winds issues... just rain issues...
