Is the Cape Verde season over? I haven't seen a single tropical wave since Humberto's precursor, and I'm seeing no signs of anything coming off of the continent right now. Does this mean that the season there is finished? If so, it'll be one of the earliest ending Cape Verde seasons on record.

Thanks to dry air and shear this season, the Cape Verde season never even took off . So I would say yes the CV season for me has been over for quite some time.

NEVER, EVER SAY NEVER in the tropics and weather in general, and most importantly, with life itself!!

I remember how everyone back in May-July thought the Cape Verde season would be a very active one just looking at how active compared to normal it was back then. Also everyone thought the fact that we had TS's Chantal and Dorian form in the MDR in July was a bad sign of things to come even though they fell apart due to strong easterlies and dry air. NEVER JUDGE A BOOK BY IT'S COVER!

I'd suspect they're talking about an Erin-like system. Isn't it pointing to a weak and short-lived one?

Yep it's all but done now..not that it ever started. Even if something develops odds are near 0 for mainland impacts.
