Interesting area in Southern Caribbean

#1 Postby 'CaneFreak » Tue Aug 14, 2012 9:05 am

This area in the southern Caribbean just to the north of South America bears watching in my opinion. Looks like it is embedded in a monsoonal trough for now, but it appears to be in a vorticity rich environment. Unfortunately, it doesn't have much model support at the present moment.

This is a separate area. Ex TD #7 is heading inland now. This area is over open water.

I was looking around 13 N and 77 W. Correct me if I am wrong, but ex TD #7 is heading inland right now in CA. Here's the vorticity map.

Remnants of Depression Seven cover the entire SW Caribbean, not just a small spot near the coast of Honduras.

Fair enough. I was thinking this was a totally separate feature but I guess this is just a vort tail from ex TD 7. Thanks.

CaneFreak, the 12z surface analysis shows wave axis still has not reached Nicaragua/Honduras and that is why you thought it was another separated entity.
