This video shot by Mark Sudduth on I-75 in Port Charlotte during Hurricane Charley is the real deal - he captures the eyewall with 145 mph winds (while protected under a highway overpass as the asphalt begins to tear off the road), then has the eye of the storm pass overhead, and then captures the back half of this storm.

Without question, one of the most amazing hurricane wind videos i have ever seen - if you think seeing videos of newscaster reporting live in the middle of hurricanes with their yellow rain coats has prepared you for what hurricane winds are like - this is a whole other level of ferosity and intensity. Reminds of me of some of the tornado footage we have seen this year caught on tape, except these are straight-line winds. Being exposed to these conditions unprotected would not be survivable.

Highly recommend this video, along with all of Mark's (check out his site, hurricanetrack.com for all of the videos) - fascinating, rivoting, and informative work.

That Charley video is definitely great. Probably the best daylight wind footage out there. I have an odd fascination with experiencing that someday, hopefully it will be this year.
