+However be warned some of the data is a little outdated. Three recent studies (2007-2010) have confirmed that the Great New England Hurricane of 1938, Carol of 1954 & Edna of 1954 were all category three at their respective Southern New England landfalls. In addition a recent study (2007) found Hurricane Audrey of 1957 was not a category 3 at landfall, but rather a cat. 1. Still, for pure numbers, the findings are interesting.
