Hello all, I am new to this forum and have seen great info and graphics. Very cool site!
I am writing here to invite everyone including amateurs to give their opinions on the upcoming last two months of the season. As we know, La Nina years tend to bring lots of action in October and November, so with this being one of those years, what can we expect?
Accuweather has been talking about "troptober", the crazy October storm pattern potentially coming up and how Florida in particular may take a few hits. Will there also be a "November to remember"? I recall Accuweather mentioning months ago the prospect for tracking Thanksgiving tropical systems instead of the usual blizzards, yes...on Turkey Day. Hype?...or not?
I personally feel the 2010 season has been like a sleeping giant as far as severe hurricane landfalls outside Mexico, and that it will probably wake in the weeks ahead and perhaps deal us a November surprise too. The waters are just so warm, and there's such a huge imbalance of storm activity worldwide with unusually quiet WPAC and EPAC seasons, of which the former is usually very busy from now through Nov.....something's gotta give soon and it might be ugly. If I were to put down dates, it would be the period October 8-November 25.
Any Thoughts?
