Convection is firing in the Atlantic near the itcz East of 30W with MJO in a favorable phase now, Fortunately the shear is too high fot the moment.

Yes, the shear is just ripping across most of the Atlantic Basin, particularly from the central Caribbean to Africa and across the Gulf of Mexico to off the east U.S. Coast.
