Is a low forming along the front at about 24n 96w, probably another satellite illusion.

Saw that too. Possible formation from the west and the front and not from the Caribbean.

Just caught my eye on the Visible loop and I look to see if anyone else noticed it, guess I'm slipping a bit during football season. Blowing up as we speak, hope it doesn't come my way we've had enough rain far a while. Lots of shear near.

Just a natural wave on the cold front off the lower TX coast.

Little rotation down in the BOC and the pressures have fallen, is it the same as before, a natural wave on the cold front?

Is this like a 24 hour cycle for pressures to rise and fall in the tropics?

That's some vorticity associated with a tropical wave crossing southern Mexico. It's being drawn northward up the front. No tropical development, but it may enhance rain along the TX/LA coasts the next 1-2 days.

Thanks wxman57, these little spins have been really cool to watch along this front over the past couple of days.

Local met mentioned tonight that there was a "possibility" of some sort of tropical system forming in the WGOM or BOC by the end of the month and moving northward. Has anyone else heard or seen anything to this effect? I was just wondering. I would think that if something does form, it wouldn't have much of a chance with the fronts that we've been getting.

Look at the long range models thread, GFS was predciting tropical development on the very long range.

That's just a prediction based upon climatology. Yes, it's climatologically possible for development in the Gulf in October, but nothing is indicating such development will occur this year.

I totally agree. I was just reporting what I was hearing from a local met.
