The SST's have come up across the Atlantic but in many areas of the Tropical Atlantic .. particularly in the deep tropical Atlantic remain slightly below normal. However, SST's right around 10ºN off the coast of Africa have spiked up with 28.2ºC (82.5ºF) water temperatures ...

The SST's along the Equatorial Pacific continue to hover just slightly above normal with below normal SST's off the West Coast of South America ...

Of biggest note, is how much warmer almost the entire North Central Atlantic Ocean is compared to normal ... Also of note, right along the East Coast - SST's remain below normal, primarily due to the overall troughiness along the Eastern Seaboard ... also of another note, in the GOM ... look at the transition of below normal SST's during the passage of Claudette ...
