Tropical weather outlook 11:00 AM EDT

The tropical wave located some 400 miles east of the leeward islands has becomed a little better organized this morning as the LLC that was exposed on sunday now it has jumped into the convection and that may be a sign of organization. It is moving more slowly between 10-15 mph and that may be contribuing to organize. All interests in the northern leeward islands should monitor the progress of this system to see what track it will take.An unusual trough for this time of the year will exit the east coast and that could determine if as the latest model run says Erika will be a threat to the east coast of the US.

A tropical wave located in the far eastern atlantic is located south of the cape verde islands but no development is expected.

An area of disturbed weather has formed in the northeastern atlantic SW of the Azores islands but if it develops it well may be a subtropical system.

Elsewhere...Tropical storm formation is not expected thru tuesday.

Another thing as Luis mentioned, the invest is moving more slowly ... and even more to note: the convection ahead of the invest is moving even slower ... The LLS is catching up to the deeper moisture as well as generating some new convection on its southern flank ...
