How many waves have crossed the Atlantic this hurricane seas

#1 Postby Gustywind » Sun Aug 03, 2008 6:02 pm

In fact , i want to know how many have crossed the Ocean for the moment...; it's awesome, in some seasons you have less waves than that, but remember less does not mean inactive, but it could be a "positive influence factor" to have better chances to see more hurricanes.... ( shoud it verifies first :cheesy: ).
Whereas if anyone have numbers, or a link to have a better idea on that i will be glad... because i'm curious and afterwards a little amazed by the numerous waves crossing the Atlantic since Mid May , i do not count them perhaps i should lool, thoughts are welcomed as usual :). Tkanks a lot my friends

Gusty,i remember that in "Monthly weather review",there was each year an article that resumed the disturbances( no tropical cyclones )that cross the Atlantic, and the T Waves.
I don't know if it's always the case???.
Anyway, this thread is an interesting one...

OK tkanks HUC... my friend from Basse-Terre glad to see that you consider it as an interesting , i'm proud too lool :). I try to improve the choices of some threads, not easy but fascinating. Hope you're in shape, because right now things are heat up ( in spite of the SAL lol), we should monitor all these awesome waves very very carefully, i remembered already Dean there's one year ago ....

And have you see some seasons in the past like this one in terms of number of waves ( pretty high with my untrained eyes)?
If you any info to give me you can i'm amazed this year that's a bit suspicious...
I've noticied that they are not stopping from Africa, at least one since Mid May, definitely something to meditate... :double: :)
