There is no eye. To have an eye...you need an eyewall. You are looking at the SWIR. There is a warm spot but it is not an eye...and right now...it is barely holding on to a LLC...much less an eye. An eye is there because subsidence creates it from the outflow of the yewall into the trop. This is not occuring here.

CLAUDETTE MAY HAVE BEEN A HURRICANE AT 1530Z. THE HURRICANE HUNTER AIRCRAFT REPORTED FLIGHT-LEVEL WINDS OF 76 KT...AND AN EYEWALL DROPSONDE INDICATED SUSTAINED HURRICANE-FORCE WINDS AT THE SURFACE. TWO HOURS LATER...THE PLANE FOUND A FRAGMENTED WINDFIELD NEAR THE
DECAYED EYEWALL...WITH WINDS LOWER AND PRESSURES
