According to that comment that fixed position was not the center so that is why the rise in pressure.

This doesn't make any sense. They are extraping the SLP from 10,000' from this location and not over the actual cnter. Either way...pressure is still coming up a little...but this makes no sense.
I think the shear that is undercutting the storm (see lower level cirrus on SSW side sliding under) is tilting the vertical structure. The overall cloud motion for the system has been to the north but the center fixes are to the NW. It's getting bent.
