Wonder what the delay was about?

Analysis and re analysis IMO, to make sure they are making the correct call. Playing it conservative I think. At 30 mph clip it is difficult at best to close off a circ center. Definitely getting it's act together!!! Looking better and better and outflow pattern is beginining to be established on N side.

Claudette
That's the best looking wave I've ever seen! Recon found 45kts sustained just north of a 1009MB pressure reading. This is on the verge of being Claudette. Just have to find that west wind down south.

Amen to that. A buddy an I were just talking about that. This is the most impressive wave I can remember. Look like a 50 kt tropical storm. I can remember Cat 1's that looked less impressive. All it has to do is slow down by about 5-10 kts and the west wind will appear.

I personally believe it's already a tropical storm ticka...based on visible satellite presentation. The fast forward movement may have masks the fact it had a closed circulation earlier when recon was on station...something I've seen occur before.
If I lived in Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, and the Yucatan peninsula, I'd be getting prepared for some very stormy weather (possibly even hurricane conditions on some portion of the northeast Yucatan); and I'd keep a very wary eye on it if I lived along the Gulf Coast from Florida westward.
